The Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Disaster in Japan persuaded the government of nearby Taiwan to increase the cooling water capacity of Taiwan’s first nuclear plant which was built in 1979. Hence additional cooling water pipelines were commissioned to supply the plant outside the capital city of Taipei, to ensure that in the event of any problem, plenty of water will be available to cool the reactor.
As this was a strategically important pipeline that would be partly laid above ground, the engineers developed a very high specification. TDC won the project by providing the PE100RC Pipeline System, which provides the maximum resistance to external damage!
