High-density polyethylene(HDPE) pipe can be connected by two methods, electrofusion welding and butt fusion welding

When the pipelines are for the use of cable threading, it is suggested to employ the electrofusion welding method. The method makes the inner pipe wall smooth, enabling the cable to pass through easily.

If butt fusion welding method is adopted, it is suggested to utilize the smart butt welding machine (with welding record device recording the time, temperature and pressure), which ensures the completeness of the welding process and avoids any false welding owing to personal factors, further influencing the project quality.

In addition, the butt fusion welding method must be carried out in accordance with the specifications of the Taiwan Power Company, so the inner bead scraping operation should be carried out. Simultaneously, using endoscope record to ensure the inner beads are completely removed. The complete removal of the inner bead enables the cable to go through the pipelines easily and avoids the cable scratches which may lead to operation safety problems in the future.
